The Department of Educational Foundations invites prospective students to apply for the following career-enhancing programmes

 

M.Phil. Curriculum & Pedagogic Studies
Mode: Regular (Full time)

Duration: 24 Calender Months

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

1. Bachelor’s degree in education with CGPA of 2.5 or better from an accredited institution.

2. A good first degree of CGPA of 2.5 or better in any discipline outside Education, plus a PGDE or M.Ed. degree from an accredited institution.

JOB PROSPECTS 

Graduates may
1. work in curriculum development institutions such as NaCCA, GTEC, NTC, MOE, NVTI, NAPTET, etc.

2. take up teaching appointments as tutors of College of Education or assistant lecturers at the Universities.

3. work with NGO’s and international organizations such as UNICEF, UNESCO, etc.

 

M.Phil. Assessment, Measurement &
Evaluation

Mode: Regular (Full time)
Duration: 24 Calender Months

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

1. Bachelor’s degree with CGPA of 2.5 or better in mathematics or statistics related programme for an accredited institution.

2. Bachelor’s degree with CGPA of 2.5 or better in Education-related programme from an accredited institution.

3. Graduates with a good 1st degree in disciplines outside Education, but who can demonstrate evidence of professional practice in assessment, measurements and evaluation.

JOB PROSPECTS 

Graduates may get the opportunity to be:

1. tutors of College of Education or Assistant
lecturers at Universities.

2. Assessment officers for agencies of Education such as NaCCA, NaSIA, etc.

3. Assessment officers for exams bodies such as WAEC, NABPTEX, NTC, etc.

M.Phil. Instructional Design and Technology

Duration: 24 Calender Months
Mode: Regular (Full time)

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

1. Bachelor’s degree in Education with CGPA of 2.5 or better from an accredited institution.

2. A good first degree of CGPA of 2.5 of better in any discipline outside Education, plus a PGDE or M.Ed. degree from an accredited institution.

3. Applicant must have adequate skills in
computer literacy and competency in Microsoft Office Software and applications.

 

JOB PROSPECTS 

Graduates may
1. work in curriculum development institutions such as NaCCA, GTEC, NTC, MOE, etc.

2. work as Instructional Designers/ Instructional Technology specialists/ Technology coordinators/ Corporate trainers in sectors such as education, banking, healthcare, security services, etc.

3. take up teaching appointments as tutors at Colleges of Education or assistant lecturers at Universities.

 

Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PDGE)

 

Mode: Sandwich (September – October) Duration: One year (2 Sessions)

Entry Requirements

1. A good first degree of CGPA of 2.5 or better in any discipline outside Education from an accredited institution.

2. Candidates with graduating GPA’s classified as Third Class and Pass must pass a selection interview.

Job Prospects

Graduates may get the opportunity to:

1. Be recruited into the Ghana Education Service or any other school system.

2. Regularize their appointments within the Ghana Education Service.

3. Take up administrative positions in educational institutions.

 

M.Ed Supervision 

Mode: Sandwich (September – October)
Duration: One year (2 Sessions)

Entry Requirements

1. A good first degree of CGPA of 2.5 or better in Education or related field from an accredited insitution

2. Graduates with bachelors’s degree in non-
education programmes, but possess certificates in Education and or practice in education may be considered.

3. Applicants with Third Class or Pass must pass a slection interview.

Job Prospects

Graduates may get the opportunity to:

1. Take up administrative roles (e.g., DMEO) or supervi- sory roles (e.g., SISOs) in GES.

2. Be promoted to higher rank in GES or in other sectors.

3. Work as professionals in educational supervisory institutions such as NaSIA, GTEC, NTC, etc.
